East St Kilda Sports & Spinal Clinic

Pilates

Pilates has become one of the most popular exercise regimes of recent times. It's popularity has soared because it suits all body types and fitness levels. With careful selection, Pilates can be successfully authored into your lifestyle, even if you don't have an existing exercise program.

The regime works because the group of exercises are designed to strengthen the core muscles around the back and stomach, whilst strengthening, stretching and toning your larger muscle groups. Pilates utilises a range of different equipment from mats, balls and rings to reformer beds. It's focus on is control, breathing, body awareness and stability, and most exercises minimize impact on the body.

We run small Pilates classes of no more than two students to a teacher. This allows us to personalise a Pilates program to suit you as well as monitor and modify your program as you progress. We also use pilates to help rehabilitate individuals from sporting injuries, back and neck pain and to improve posture and postural awareness.

Pilates needs to be part of an Osteopathic treatment plan at the clinic to ensure private health fund cover and GST exemption. All prepaid sessions are non-refundable and must be redeemed in within a year from purchase.
